Two Rivers Art Expo
Metro Arts Alliance
The Metro Arts Two Rivers Expo, sponsored by Metro Arts Alliance, was to celebrate its 20th anniversary in November 2007. This is an annual juried two-day art show of approx. 125 regional artists. It is a beloved event by many in the metro area and beyond. However, more juried art shows have entered the market, creating confusion with consumers. Attendance and artist applications had plateaued.
On Point Strategies was contracted to direct the 2007 Expo and work closely with its co-chairs on all aspects of the Expo, as well as develop a marketing foundation that can be used for years to come. The goals were to increase attendance, as well as artist applications for next year. On Point developed a fully integrated marketing communications program, including new tactics of direct mail, interactive marketing and enhanced media relations, which proved very successful. Attendance in 2007 increased 20% vs. 2006; our goal was 10%. The dollar value of corporate sponsorships increased 40% vs. 2006. Ninety-five percent of the artists said they would reapply for the Expo. An on-site survey tool was administered with attendees showing that nearly 40% were new attendees and 60% of the attendees purchased art.
On Point Strategies helped Metro Arts build top-of-mind awareness with the public. They helped us realize the value of reaching potential patrons with a targeted marketing plan that is affordable, precise and effective — a marketing plan we needed in order to gain results without exceeding our budget. Art Expos/Shows are extremely competitive. On Points’ vision, knowledge and implementation made a tremendous difference in the growth and attendance of the Two Rivers Art Expo.
